Bean soup
1/2 gallon of water
1 and 1/2 cups of diced onion
1 and 1/2 cups of ham shanks
1/2 teaspoon of pepper
1 and 1/2 teaspoons of salt
1 can of navy beans
Put all ingredients in a pan.Bring to to boil then simmer for 30 minutes.
I don't remember the size of the can of navy beans.I think it was about a
gallon.
